As the Manager of Technology Systems, you’ll:

  • Define and evolve the company’s technology roadmap to align with business goals and drive innovation. You’ll identify opportunities for automation, integration, and scalability across departments.
  • Lead digital transformation, evaluating and implementing emerging technologies (including AI) to ensure UnCommon Farms stays ahead of the curve.
  • Oversee and optimize all critical business systems, including proprietary software (Ag Manager), HubSpot, Teamwork, Microsoft 365, and other core cloud-based tools. You’ll ensure seamless integration, workflow automation, and system performance to support operational excellence.
  • Manage a cross-functional team of internal developers, staff, and third-party vendors. You’ll mentor and build a collaborative, innovative, and accountable technology culture, setting clear goals and expectations for the team.
  • Champion IT security, compliance, and business continuity, developing and enforcing policies for data privacy, infrastructure performance, and software licensing.
  • Partner with leadership and key stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure technology delivers real business value, and serve as a trusted technology advisor for executive decision-making and resource planning.
  • Provide operational support and end-user services, overseeing onboarding, training, and change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of systems and processes across the organization.
  • Manage IT assets and vendor relationships, including tracking technology resources, negotiating software and service contracts, and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Support company meetings and presentations by setting up and managing AV systems, collaboration tools, and technical troubleshooting for internal and executive events.
  • Document system configurations, workflows, and policies, ensuring continuity and knowledge sharing to future-proof UnCommon Farms’ technology infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of IT management or systems leadership experience.
  • Proven success managing software development teams and vendors, driving digital transformation, and modernizing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM (preferably HubSpot), project management tools (Teamwork), and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, cloud-based infrastructure, APIs, and automation tools like Zapier and Make.

Jr. Tax Preparer

We’re seeking a detail oriented and dependable Jr. Tax Preparer to assist with preparing income, payroll, property, and sales tax returns for individuals, businesses, nonprofits, s and c corps and more. This role also supports year-end tax planning, client consulting, marketing efforts, and provides admin support to the Senior Tax Manager. Why You’ll Love This Role

As the Jr. Tax Preparer, you’ll:

  • Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, s-corporations, and fiduciaries. Ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Participate in year-end tax planning activities by gathering relevant client data, running preliminary analyses, and collaborating with the tax team to develop tax-saving strategies.
  • Assist with preparation and filing of quarterly and annual payroll tax forms for clients, including Forms 941, 943, FUTA, SUTA, State 941, 1096, W-3, W-2, and 1099, along with managing electronic tax payments to ensure timely compliance.
  • Assist in preparing sales tax returns for clients, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to state and local sales tax requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with agriculture clients to review their tax return, line-by-line, answering their questions and explaining tax situations in a clear manner.
  • Conduct tax research by reading and interpreting tax codes, regulations and rulings. Collaborate with the Senior Tax Manager to review findings and determine appropriate tax treatments.
  • Review client inquiries and notices related to tax filings. Work with associates to prepare accurate and timely responses or resolutions
  • Provide clerical assistance to the Senior Tax Manager, including scheduling appointments, gathering and organizing client tax documents, scanning and filing tax returns, processing client payments, greeting visitors, and coordinating communication between field staff and corporate offices.
  • Support marketing initiatives and other firm projects as needed, contributing to business development efforts and internal operations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


What We’re Looking For

  • 1-3 Years of Accounting and/or Public Tax Experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. QuickBooks experience a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and become proficient in using accounting and tax software.
  • Future plan to work toward a CPA or Enrolled Agent desired.

Corporate HR Responsibilities

  • Lead the corporate payroll, benefits and 401k programs and administration and all related reporting.
  • Primary liaison between UnCommon Farms and external vendors (health, disability, retirement providers), coordinating through the HR Business Partner.
  • Partner with all HR team members on corporate strategic and tactical HR activities including:
  • Provide employee support for payroll and benefits inquiries, escalating issues as needed to the HR Business Partner.
  • Draft and maintain clear, up-to-date job descriptions, employee records, policy documents templates and processes to support organizational goals and culture.
  • Collaborate with managers and cross-functional teams to support operational HR needs
  • Partner with managers and cross-functional teams to deliver responsive, day-to-day HR support

Member HR Consulting Responsibilities

  • Support member farms with recruiting, onboarding, job descriptions, compensation, and benefits administration
  • Assist in the creation and updates of member employee handbooks, policies, and HR procedures
  • Conduct virtual and on-site HR file audits, and provide follow-up reports and solutions
  • Support and advise members on federal /state employment laws, benefits, and compliance
  • Deliver training and development programs for members via virtual sessions, peer groups, conferences, and on-farm workshops
  • Maintain and update policy templates and HR documentation to ensure member compliance and effectiveness

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3–5 years’ experience administering multi-state payroll, benefits, and 401(k) programs.
  • Experience in the agriculture sector is highly desirable.
  • 3-5 years HR generalist experience in job analysis and organizational development, employee development, policy development, performance management, employee relations and compensation support.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Comfortable developing and delivering HR training and communications.
  • Proficient with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
